the little snow boy named henry

well, we got what we wanted:
SNOW.
and a lot of it!
{for our little valley that is...}
four and a half inches caused school to be shut down,
roads to close,
cars to be stranded,
fender benders here, there and everywhere,
and a million teens stuck at home wondering what to do with their lives.

we ALL prayed for snow
{even the teachers}
then once we got it, twitter was full of complaining teenagers
moaning and whining about not having anything to do.
then DO SOMETHING.
get out.
have fun.
it's possible, ya know?
my "snow-weekend" was soooo much fun!

after sleeping in on friday,
i woke up and made some peppermint cake pops
{which turned out to be delicious by the way}
most likely because i used my secret ingredient: Michael Bublé.
no, i didnt kidnap the famous singer and blend him into my cake pops,
{that would be a little out of order...}
but i sure did blast his christmas album through our home speakers all morning.
i mean, really, lets all be honest here...
we all know Michael's christmas album is above all others.
{yes, Michael and i are on a first name basis... be jealous.}
anyways, the point is:
i made amazing christmas cake pops.

friday night i was suppossed to attend a christmas party at evan's house.
due to the road conditions, i couldn't make it there.
the party ended up being canceled anyways, but you could say i was pretty bummed.
especially considering evan was leaving town on sunday,
and i wanted to see him as much as possible beforehand.
so after changing out of my party dress and tights,
i began moping around my house feeling sad for myself.
but then out of the blue i got an invitation to go night sledding from some friends who live near me!
why not take advantage of the snow and have some fun!
so four of my friends and i designated a meeting spot between our houses.
we all made the trek through the snow to the designated location,
and we all came bearing goodies.
i came with the peppermint cake pops that were supposed to be for the party,
and the others brought chicken noodle soup and hot chocolate.
we spent the rest of the evening sipping on warm drinks,
reliving old elementary/middle school memories and risking our lives
as we all piled onto one snowboard and flew over the ice patches on the hill.
overall, the night was a lot better than i thought it would be.
but saturday was even better...

saturday morning i woke up and headed over to evan's house
for some french toast, eggs, and bacon with him and his parents.
we then changed into our ever-so-puffy snow clothes and ventured into the white winter wonderland.

after rummaging through their fridge to find a baby carrot,
and picking out 7 little black rocks from their backyard
we crafted a perfect little man out of snow.
technically he was just a snow boy
we named our little friend henry.
henry was quite small,
but he was an adorable snow boy nonetheless,
because: a person {or in this case snow-boy} is a person no matter how small.

we only ventured off his street once and it was to retrieve some much needed white peppermint mochas
from starbucks, of course.
the rest of the afternoon was spent watching movies and playing card games
in the warmth of their home.

we all decided to venture out for dinner to my house.
it was a fun filled evening between eating spaghetti,
hearing embarassing stories shared by our very thoughtful parents,
and a friendly {or not-so-friendly} game of catch phrase.
boys against girls of course.
and do i even need to mention who won??
eh em..  girl power.

the entire day was an epitome of a perfect snow day.
i felt like everything was plucked from the plot of an upcoming disney movie.
jeesh,

 i am one lucky girl.

happy blogging. xo.
