frostbite and football games.

yes, i was one of those crazy teenagers who waited out in the
freezing cold for the Catching Fire premiere.
was it worth it? by far.
but little did i know that the 32 degree weather i was enduring while standing in line
was nothing compared to what i willingly endured through saturday night.

saturday, ali and i set off with her family to the wonderful city of bend.
{it seems to be a tradition for us after the week we spent in
sun river this last summer... my how the weather has changed.}
we spent the afternoon shopping at the old mill district,
then had dinner with the family at our favorite restaurant in bend, pastinis.
{not only is the food good, but the view right outside the windows is amazing.}
7 pm. saturday night, the cascade christian challengers took on the vale vikings in the state semi finals.
it was a three hour game in weather ranging from 12-16 degrees fahrenheit.
the student section was full of girls (and two boys) in
sleeping bags, blankets, and ridiculously "poofy" coats.
one girl spilt her hot chocolate and five minutes later it was frozen solid on the ground.
we are talking rock solid people.
everyone was huddled together on the bleachers trying to stay warm
while cheering on our team.

luckily, the challengers pulled through
winning the game with the score of 24-19.
we are now onto the state championship which happens to be in bend, again.
let's all hope it isn't as cold as it was this weekend!
our boys want it so bad this year so it will definitely make for an interesting game.
not only will it be an awesome game, it will be the last football game for all of us seniors.
it's crazy how fast these past few years have gone, i can remember the first freshman football game
like it was yesterday, now it's all coming to an end.
hopefully an end that comes with a state championship title!
let's go challengers!

happy blogging. xo.
