its beginning to look a lot like christmas

its beginning to look a lot like christmas
everywhere you gooooo...
okay, im done with the lyric quoting,
but really, have you seen the decorations??
the trees, the lights, the little woodland creatures and candy canes...
it makes me so so so happy.
{and for some odd reason i've been obsessed with woodland creatures this year}

am i the only one who gets over-joyed when
i see the ugly, cheesy, five-hundred-year-old canadian geese hanging from our mall's ceiling?
yes, they may be ugly
and yes, they may be straight from the 90's
BUT STILL.
ever since i was a little girl, those dangling geese meant it was christmas season.
and everyone who knows me knows i am in love with christmas season.
christmas just brings the good out in people.
it means christmas parties,
hot chocolate,
christmas lights,
christmas trees,
baking,
Michael Bublé,
{single-handedly the best christmas cd}
friends,
and family.
i mean, who doesn't get happy when they hear the word christmas?
{besides the infamous grinch and ebenezer scrooge of course}

i'm usually that person who waits until the last minute to do my christmas shopping.
i like having an excuse to go to the mall and listen to the traditional "elevator" christmas music,
while walking the halls that are lined with christmas lights and overly sized red velvet bows,
and of course, what would christmas shopping be without
a starbucks peppermint mocha in hand?

last night was my first actual christmas shopping spree this year.
besides the dreaded five hours of school, it was a perfect day.
i helped my dad and Evan rake up the copious amounts of leaves in our backyard.
{lets be honest, i only helped for like 15 minutes, but still.. its the thought that counts, right?}
then Evan and i ventured to the mall and
walked around with peppermint white mochas in hand.
after eating some soup with my parents,
we went shopping for Operation Christmas Child boxes with Evan's parents.
this is one of my favorite things to do, so you can realize how much fun i had.
from teddy bears to toothbrushes we filled our little plastic containers to the brim.
soon they'll be sent off to some little kids in a foreign country, how cool is that?
anyways, i hope you are all enjoying the beginning of
christmas season 2013.
unfortunately, it'll soon be over,
so take advantage of it!
yes, people! it is time to whip out the Michael BublĂ© album,
grab a holiday drink from your local starbucks,
and go christmas shopping!
on your marks... get set... shop!

who doesn't love reindeer ears?

happy blogging. xo.
